I worked as a Senior Level Artist on the map Breakaway for BF2042. Autumn of 2019 me and the pod were tasked to create the biggest BF map to date, it was very early in the production phase of BF2042.
After many back and forths and investigating possible candidates from all corners of the world we decided to go for a fairly unexplored continent, Antarctica.
It was a huge undertaking in many aspects and all of a sudden a pandemic hits which made things even more challenging.
My duties were everything from finding and implementing the heightfield and backdrop to terrain shaders and materials, lookdev, nature assets and mesh scattering. I worked on Breakaway for 1,5 years before I left and started working at another company.
